The Parthenon is a well-known temple on the Athenian Acropolis. It was dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena. Its construction was performed in 447 – 438 BC. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece. The Parthenon is regarded as an symbol of Ancient Greece and one of the world’s greatest cultural monuments. The Greek governement is currently carrying out a program of restoration and reconstruction of this building.
